Flat Stanley Rides a Motorcycle in Eugene, Oregon

Who is Flat Stanley? Schoolkids nationwide participate in The Flat Stanley Project. Kids make their own “Flat Stanleys” and mail them all over the world on adventures with friends and family. Each recipient of a Flat Stanley tells a story of Flat Stanley’s time with them, and then they send him along for a new adventure in another part of the world.

Our Flat Stanley came to us from one of Jodie’s cousins, and we’re sending this write-up to his teacher. Before arriving in Eugene, Oregon, Flat Stanley visited folks in Georgia, New Mexico and even Colorado! Here in Eugene, there was only one thing to do: make sure he got to ride a motorcycle.

You might not know this, but Flat Stanley is a great motorcycle rider. Before you can go on a motorcycle trip though, you have to make sure your bike is ready to ride. You check things like your engine oil and tire pressure. Flat Stanley was a big help in the garage:

Flat Stanley is a pretty dab hand with a wrench, too. He helped me tighten some bolts on the motorcycle:

With the work out of the way, now it was time for the fun. Of course, when it comes to riding motorcycles, safety is everything, and Flat Stanley made sure to wear his helmet:

Riding in a motorcycle sidecar is a great way to see the world, and Flat Stanley had a great time hanging out in the sidecar:
