New Metric Wrenches
Filed Under (Ural Parts and Accessories) by Anthony StClair on 19-06-2008

Break a wrench, or just need some new wrenches? Keep an eye out for bargains at your local hardware, auto parts or home improvement store.
Jerry’s, our local home improvement store, had a sale going on some wee metric wrench sets. I snagged up 2 of wrench sets for $7 each. One set is now in the Ural’s toolkit in the trunk. The other set is in a drawer in the garage where we keep the bicycle tools and accessories.
Not a bad deal. $7 got me 9 metric wrenches, each with an open and ring end:
- 10mm
- 11mm
- 12mm
- 13mm
- 14mm
- 15mm
- 16mm
- 17mm
- 18mm
Adding these to my Ural toolkit also makes it easier to have 2 wrenches for a task – one to tighten the bolt, one to hold the nut.

Howdy, been keeping up with your site, nice,
I am hoping to get up to Salem to take a look at the Ural’s, in the near,
haven’t been on a bike since the 60s
if you went to Sears at the Gateway, mall, you can buy Craftsman brand tools, and they come with a lifetime garantee, if it wares out or breaks for any reason, just take the tool into any Sears, no reciept required and they will replace it, free of charge, a lot of folks go to garage sales and such and pick up worn out Craftsman tools and exchange them for new,
I would like to meet you folks sometime and see your hack, and talk a bit,
how often do you folks make to Creswell for vegies,
I live in Cottage Grove,
if you are headed up this way, the drive up Row River is nice, on up to Culp Creek or Sharps Creek, Laying Creek, Bryson Creek, there is a very nice loop from Cottage Grove , to a starting point of either Cottage Grove Lake or Dorena Lake that takes you over the mountain in a senic loop from 1 lake to the other, you can also cut over to Roseburg or Oak Ridge, and on over to Blue River, off the loop, it is all paved now, though parts are still under snow it this time,
well enough rambling for now, have a good day
Thanks for the note Howard, glad you’re liking the site.
Heads-up on Craftsman is appreciated - these tools were a decent deal, but someday I wouldn’t be surprised if I did some upgrading to something nicer like a Craftsman.
Be happy to meet up with you sometime - drop me an email and let’s see what we can figure out.
Thanks for the ride tip, will check that out!
Do you have your eye on a particular Ural model yet?
